Below are the rough draft idles for 2 non playable characters that probably have the most backstory written for them so far. I’ve been spending way too much time trying to design super long special attack animations for them. Hopefully I’ll be done soon though and I can move on to whats remaining for 2D effects, background environments and the pixel art sprites for maps.


Weekly Post – May 28
Below is a 2D effect for a lightning magic attack. I wasn’t able to actually get the cast animation for the actual mage caster done in time so it’s just lightning from no where right now.

Created some 2D fire and wind effects which I’ll be reusing the sprites to come up with a number of fancy crit and magic casting animations.

Weekly Post – May 5th
Below are the idles from the last post, very simple and fast to do relative to when I first started animating a couple years ago. Will be getting through a few more simple animations and retaking a look at the UI which has been bare bones for a while.



May 1st Post
So it’s been about a month since the last post, and the reason is mostly that I’ve been pipelining a massive amount of drafted ideas and there’s been nothing in a “nearing finished” state and appearance, Some of the things I worked on were background environments, as seen below and I’ve started the Idle drafts for a few new characters. There’s nothing to show but I’m prepping some 2d effects for magic and some of the effects for when critical hits happen. Most of the design effort is just deciding what visual effects can be made uniformly and as simple as possible without having to customize specifically for each character animation. It’s been a few weeks since the last post just because I haven’t found the time to do it in between animating and life stuff. Designing and animating has never stopped though. Below is an Idle animation for one of the early generic archer enemies.


Weekly Post – Mar 16
This weeks post is late because it took a surprising amount of time to final line the cavalry running animation. There were some problems I had with the horse anatomy that I just couldn’t stand to not fix which took additional time to fix but it turned out well. Will probably take a break from animation for a little bit and work on gameplay features. Thanks for reading.

Not much news this week and probably for a few more. It’s just going to be a ton of animation. This week has just been animating the above, taken surprisingly long and I’m continuing to grind out alot of the basic animations in addition to designing the more advanced ones for critical attacks.
